Thanks for contacting I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with the hepa filter popping out of place on the vacuum cleaner. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, you need to check the way the filter is installed. The accordion side should be up so you are doing that correct. Make sure the filter is straight when you install it. If you already did that, check that filter with the original. If there is differences, you have a defective filter. Clean the original filter and install it. Try the vacuum cleaner. If no problem with the original, you have a defective filter. However,if the problem now exists with the old filter, look for dirt where the filter installs. It may be stopping it from seating properly.

The automatic rewind activating itself is a problem with the cord wheel. There is a problem the locking spring. Since the cord wheel is only sold as one assembly, the entire cord wheel would need to be replaced. The part number for the cord wheel is 303238002. I hope this helps.
