Thank you for your question on why the vacuum cleaner will not self propel anymore.

There could be a couple of reasons for this.

Check that the handle is not in the locked no drive position.

One is the drive belt. Another may be the belt tightener arm is broken, and the cable that you move with the handle for forward and backwards is broken.

To find out what the problem is you will need to flip the vacuum over there should be 4 screws that secures the cover over the roller brush Then with your fingers on both sides of the top cover pull up and off.

This should expose all the belt drives and idler arms for the drive system.

I am going to give you a Utube video that should help with the removal of the lower plate and the belt drive system.
