Question and Answers

vacuum has no suction could the belt be broken? U5509-900 Hoover Vacuum

Thank you for the inquiry and for using I am sorry to hear of the suction issue you are experiencing with the vacuum, I know how frustrating that is.

The lack of suction could stem back to a clogged hose. Have you verified there is no blockage or clogs? Is the belt in tact around the agitator at the bottom? Is it loose? A loose or broken belt wouldn't allow the agitator to spin, which would prevent it from sucking up the dirt from the carpet. If you use the hose assembly, does it pick up dirt or does it not pick up dirt either? In that case, I would check for clogs, dirty filters, and/or the motor. However if the hose works fine, then it sounds like a clog at the bottom hose from the base, or the belt or agitator.

Hopefully that helps and gives you a few things to check on. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reply. Thanks for using
