Question and Answers

I currently own a GE Profile refrigerator Model#TPx24bpdabb. I installed a new filter and the water doesn't run from the door dispenser.

Having to get water every time you run out is a bit of a hassle. The convenience of your water is dispenser is great, so I understand your concern. Below I attached some links that may help you with your situation. I hope this helps!

I know it can be frustrating when the water dispenser stops working. The information you have received from Jackie is good. This filter is for both the water dispenser and icemaker, so if the icemaker is working ok, it indicates water is flowing through the filter ok. This could be a problem with the dispenser switch, the water valve or a frozen water line. When the dispenser pad is pressed, listen for a clicking sound. If you do not hear this sound, it indicates the switch has failed or the actuator is not making contact with it. If you can hear this sound, listen for a humming noise from behind the unit. If you do not hear this sound, some voltage checks will need to be made. If you can hear this sound, it indicates the water valve is being energized but if no water is being dispensed, the most likely problem will be a stuck valve. A good check will be to reverse the wires on the water valve. Pull the unit out far enough to remove the back panel cover to access the valve. First disconnect power to the unit. The wires on the valve will be in pairs, so reverse the wires on the valve and reconnect the power. Now activate the dispenser and if the water flows, the water valve # WR57X10022 will need to be replaced. It indicates the dispenser side of the valve has failed. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.
