A:

It seems that the original fuse might not have been the issue since the standby light would light up. The new fuse you put in might have gone out when powered on because the new fuse was only rated at half of the original fuse. I do not think this is s fuse issue, but something else. These types of small electronics are very difficult to troubleshoot. I would recommend taking this into a local Sears Repair shop. They can do some additional internal testing. I believe the cost of this is about $30 and if you got it fixed it would be applied to the overall bill.
