Thank you for your question. Locating some parts can be a challenge sometimes. The defrost timer in this model will be located in the control housing. I'm attaching an image below and the timer is # 257. Be sure to disconnect the power first, before removing the control housing, to access the timer. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further.

That part is designed not to rust. This refrigerator appears to be around 10 years old. The normal use of that part over the years may have caused it to wear down to the point that the rust resistant coating of that metal part has worn off. I don't know the exact composition of the metal in that component. This is not necessarily a manufacturer defect. If the auger worked normally and did not rust for the previous 8 or 9 years then it is unlikely that this failure is caused by a defect in the part. That part had a 1 year warranty. It will not be covered under the warranty of the refrigerator. I don't have specific information to help you install that part. It appears that you would need to remove the front part of that dispenser bucket to access that auger assembly and replace it. You can view a parts list diagram of the dispenser on the Sears PartsDirect website. You may be able to determine how to remove that part by viewing that parts list diagram. I wish that we could be more helpful regarding this problem but I don't have much information on that dispenser assembly. If you are not confident that you can replace that component, you will probably need to have a service technician complete that repair. Here is a link for the Sears Service website in case you need it: Sears Home Services .
