Model #TFU16F7BW1 Tappan Freezer - 5995251559

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the freezer and I can understand your concern. If it's not running at all there are 2 controls that can cause this to happen. However, first make sure there is power to the freezer. If there is power to the unit, try turning the thermostat all the way off and then back on. Sometimes the contact inside the thermostat will stick and can cause this type of problem. If it does come back on, I would recommend replacing the thermostat # 216303600 because it could happen again at any time. If it still won't run, next try turning the dial on the defrost timer. The timer on this model will probably be behind the unit in the compressor compartment. It's possible that the unit just went into a defrost cycle. If this occurred, the unit will stay off for approx. 30 minutes before it will start running again. If it starts now by turning the timer dial, it will probably be ok but if you notice that after awhile it stops again and starts getting warm the timer # 216744400 would then need to be replaced. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services.
