Question and Answers

Q:

Refrig door doesn't come to stop when opening. TFH22PRSMWW Ge Side-by-side refrigerator

Q:

Why won't the dispenser work?

A:

If the dispenser does not work at all, the door interlock (light) switch, located at the bottom, needs to be checked. In this case, first disconnect power to the unit. Now pop out the door switch and connect the brown and gray wires together. Now plug the cord back in. These wires will be hot (live) now, so be careful. Now activate the dispenser lever and if the auger runs, the interlock switch will need to be replaced.

If only the auger motor is not running and since you replaced the motor and capacitor, it basically only leaves the dispenser control or a broken wire. Disconnect the power and remove the top freezer door hinge cover and you will see some wires and connector. Check for a loose or broken wire at this connection. If these wires look ok, a voltage check will need to be made. Disconnect the power and place the meter leads between the black and orange wires. Do not disconnect any of the wires. Now reconnect the power and press the dispenser lever. If there is no voltage there the control board # WR55X129R will need to be replaced. If you get 120 volts here, it means that a wire between the hinge and the auger motor is broke. In this case I recommend having a technician out to verify it because if this is the case, it may not be repairable. I'm listing a site you can check to get a technician.
