Question and Answers

Q:

What is the reason for not having a contact email for sears or Troy Bilt??? TB90BC Troybilt 2-cycle gas trimmer/brushcutter

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, due to EPA Federal Regulation on emissions control, we do not have nor sell the carburetor adjustment tools. If you go online, you may be able to find one available for purchase though.

In regards to the brush cutter hardware, we offer both the washers and the nut. There is also a hardware kit, which is part number 791-180014. That would include all the hardware offered together for connection.

I have linked the Troy Bilt Customer Support page below for convenience. I do not see an email address for Troy Bilt support.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

how to trouble shooting a trimmer

A:

It is always a little frustrating when a lawn tool starts acting up on us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having some issues with your Troy Built trimmer. I did some research at Managemylife website and found an excellent article and your owner's manual that may help until your expert can respond. I have attached the links below so you can check them out.

Gilbert - Could you please be a little more specific. When yo you say 'not working' do you mean not starting or that the engine runs but the cutter head does not, or even something else? Please let us know and perhaps we can be of more help.

Sorry for being to board on that subject, let me try again.the trimmer has a broken primer bubble,I have taken it apart but I was given the wrong size,so now I have to wait until daybreak to go exchange it..As I was taking the primer out I noticed that the tubing to the gas tank just fell apart and the filter inside of the tank was rusty.I also made a diagram to help me reinstall the tubes correctly, but my 91 year old mom thought it was trash and now I have no way of knowing where all the tubes go since they are all broken and the tuneup kit was the wrong one.,I need a diagram for my trimmer model#TB90BC

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry; we do not have written instructions for the routing of the fuel lines on your product. Our technicians are thought the basic routing because the routing cannot change much from year to year. If you have one large fuel line and one smaller this eliminates some chance for error. If you have 2 small fuel lines to the carburetor connect them and start the engine. Reversing the fuel lines will not prevent the engine from starting. If you have them connected backwards, the engine will start and die. Reverse them and you will be correct.

The routing of the fuel lines vary from model to model. Keep in mind that the primer bulb circulates fuel from the tank, through the carburetor, and back into the fuel tank. One line goes from the fuel tank to the carburetor. One line goes from the fuel tank to the primer bulb, from the primer bulb to the carburetor, and back to the fuel tank. The small line in the fuel tank should have the filter attached to it. I have added a sketch below of how the fuel should flow in the circuit.

I have found a video I think will be useful. Please click here to watch a video on how the fuel lines are routed. If you need further assistance, please submit more details.

Please click on the following link if you need to order any parts for the trimmer.
