Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the washer will drain but not spin, the clutch assembly is likely worn or the brake release lever is broken or damaged.

I added a video showing how to access and replace the clutch assembly . NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

The clutch assembly #285785 with brake release for Whirlpool model TAWS700RQ2 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

Q:

Why is my washer stopping intermittently during the cycle?

A:

The lid switch on this model has been known to cause this problem. Slowly open & close the lid & listen carefully for the click of the lid switch, it is on the top left hand side near the back. If the lid switch checks good, I recommend replacing the timer. Lid switch part number, 8318084.
