Q:

How do I replace the door handle on my Kenmore HE3 Dryer?

A:

You will need a T-20 torx driver to remove the screws securing the outer panel to the inner panel. Remove only the screws that the yellow flags are pointing at. (See image below) Separate the outer door panel from the inner door panel to access the door handle mounting screws.

I have a model # 247887760 lawnmower and am having an issue as the lawnmower is not be able to be pulled backwards. The rear wheels lock up. What do I need to do to get this fixed. I have already replaced the nylon springs and pawls. The transmission works fine, and it will go forward without any issues, it is just not able to be pulled backwards with out having to be lifted up as the wheels lock up.

Q:

How do you remove the housing for the pull cord? 316292650 Craftsman Mini tiller

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

In order to remove the rewind housing, you will need to remove the screws holding the clutch cover, and remove the clutch. In order to seize the piston to remove the clutch, you will want to remove the spark plug and insert soft rope into the cylinder to bind the piston. Leave enough rope hanging out to remove it later.

The screws should be a Torx T20 or T25. There will be a screw in the center of the clutch drum that needs to be removed. The drum will pull off, and you can then use a pair of channel locks or an adjustable spanner wrench to remove the clutch. Once the clutch is removed, you can remove the screws holding the rewind housing and pull it off so you can gain access to the rewind assembly for the rope replacement.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Clutch replacement for 316.731700 316.731700

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Rather than write it all out, I found a video on a clutch replacement on another brand of trimmer (Bolens), but both are still made by the same manufacturer (MTD). It will walk you through the general clutch removal process. You will need soft rope for the cylinder to freeze up the piston, a Torx T20 screwdriver or bit attachment, and an adjustable wrench or channel locks to unthread the clutch from the crankshaft.
