That lid lock assembly could be causing your problem if the drain pump and the drive motor will not run in the spin mode. A wiring connection problem with that lid lock assembly would also prevent the washer from running in the spin mode. You can unplug the laundry center and check the wiring on that lid lock assembly. That component is shown in the third image below. The first image shows how to remove the front panel to access the lid lock assembly. If the wires are connected properly to that component, then it will probably need to be replaced. The part number for the lid lock assembly is 134101800. You can order that part from this page: Lid Lock Assembly for White Westinghouse Laundry Center Model SWXG831DQ0 . Be sure that you unplug the laundry center before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

Note: There is a chance that a timer problem or a wiring failure in another location could prevent the drain pump and the drive motor from running in the spin mode. Reply with additional details if you need more help diagnosing that type of problem.

If the drain pump runs but will not pump out the water, then I recommend that you unplug the washer and check the hoses connected to that drain pump. The drain pump is shown in the second image below. You can remove the front panel as shown in the first image to access that drain pump. Drain the water out of the washer before you remove any hoses from that drain pump. You may need to use a wet/dry shop vacuum to remove that water. Check the hose from the bottom of the washer tub to the drain pump for a clog or restriction. Also check the hose from the drain pump to the washer drain sink or stand pipe for a clog. If the drain path is clear, then you may have a restriction in the pump or the pump may be defective. You can view a parts diagram of the laundry center and order parts from this page: White Westinghouse Laundry Center Model SWXG831DQ0 Parts . As noted above, be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Hi,

Thank you for your question, and I would like to answer the question this way.
What wire do you have jumped out on the lid switch? This model has a lid lock circuit and if it is not held in the closed position the unit will not spin or drain. This lock is like a relay, it has to have voltage across it to operate.
The checks will require a multimeter as the check are of live voltages.

Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts

NOTE: You should only check live voltage if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure it. Wear proper safety equipment (electrical safety gloves and safety goggles) when checking live voltage.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.
