Q:

Part# 74009837 Hi Limit switch can not locate

A:

Thank you for your question. The limit will be located behind the oven. It will need to be pulled out and the back panel will need to be removed. Be sure to disconnect the power first. The first image shows the basic location of the limit (# 23) and the second image shows what the limit will look like. It should have a black and orange wire connected to it. The orange wire will connect to the bake and broil element. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. The oven control board part 71001799 houses the digital display. Since all of the oven features work, you likely have a problem with that oven control board. You can reset the controls by shutting off the house circuit breakers to completely disconnect electrical power. Leave the power off for 3 minutes. Restore power and see if the display works. If not, then you will probably need to replace that oven control board to fix this problem. You can order parts from this page: JennAir Range Model SVE47600B Parts . Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breakers for the range to completely disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components and replacing parts. I posted a procedure in the image below for opening the console to access that control board.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
