Now Im really confused because I watched a video on How To diagnoise a bad fuel pump and How to change it and if it makes a lould whistle noise its good but if it makes a lould cricket sound its bad. Well I remembered my Service light coming on so I took it to our local parts dept where they will do a test for free that will show a code then you look up the code and it will tell you what is wrong with that unit ane they said it was the Catiletic Converter which I was told that was not it and about a week later the service light went out on its own. Now what?

Does anyone know it a fuel pum goes bad stalls your car is that fuel pump done forever or will the car start again? Well my car started again and I drove it but gas in tank did not have enough time to heat up Im afraid to drive to far for fear the pump will go out for good or maybe that whistle noise is something else but why would my car stall while driving it? It has never done this before.

Sounds like the fuel pump. the whistling noise could be from a defective one-way valve vibrating with the fuel passing by it. This also explains the noise still pressent after the key is turned off as the one way valve is letting fuel back into the tank (which it shouldn't) You might have a little bit of a hard time starting it since fuel pressure isn't held in the line. cycle the key 3-4 times before starting.

Thanks Mike yes it is the fuel pump im sure now. The funny thing is I can drive it just a couple of blocks and it is fine but if I go to town and back (16 miles) the noise becomes loud and car will stall. Time to get it fixed but cant get it in tell August 1 in this rural town of ours. Thanks again Mike.
