I know how important it is to have detailed information when programming a new remote. I did some research and I was able to find the owners manual for your TV. The expert will provide you with some more information within 24 to 48 hours. Thank you for your patience.

Hello Cornell,

I would like to assist you with your universal remote control. I have looked at the instructions for your remote and if all six of the codes do not work and the manual programming does not work, this universal remote control is not compatible with your television. There are not extra codes in the unit most likely, the manufacturer tends to publish all of the pre-programmed codes that are already loaded into the remote's software.

Did the original remote "stop working," or was it lost? If it suddenly quit, it is likely to be an issue that is within the TV. If you have the original remote, I suggest testing it by looking at it with a cell phone camera and pressing a button on the remote. You should see the LED emitter on the front of the remote control flash, when looking at it with the cell phone camera. In fact, be sure to test you new universal remote in this way prior to trying anything else. This will verify that it is indeed sending a signal. I have attached an image illustrating this.

If you have verified that the old remote has failed, Sears Parts Direct is a direct link to the replacement for your original.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

Q:

How do I get my remote to work on my tv? Sylvania model #SRT2119

A:

The Part Number for the sensor in the TV is USESJRSKK032 which can be ordered from Sears for $11.99 plus tax and shipping. The part would have to be unsoldered and the new one soldered into position. There are typically three leads that have to be soldered.

Please Note: There are many wires inside a television that can shock a person even if the set is unplug for long periods of time. A television technician would be recommended to make some check inside the TV to know what is all going on.
