Question and Answers

oven not getting hot SF362LXTQ0 Whirlpool Free standing - gas

Thanks for the inquiry and for using
There are actually two ignitors in the oven, one is for bake and the other is for broil. It would be extremely rare for both ignitors to go out at the same time. I would try the broil feature and see if that ignitor comes on. If so, the bake ignitor very well may be needed. However, if the broil ignitor doesn't ignite either, it could be a power issue from the electronic control board. The control board has a relay that powers the oven, and sometimes with a power surge or outage, that relay can short, which will cause the ignitors to not ignite, even though the surface burners work fine.
To be sure, you could grab a test light or a multimeter and test for power at the connecting wires while the oven is turned on. If there isn't any power, I suspect the board will need to be replaced. If they have power, or one has power, an ignitor should solve the problem. Key 16 on the diagram is for broil, and 16A is for bake.
If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
Hope this helps and thanks for using
