Question and Answers

Q:

What part needed to get oven to heat up/turn on more quickly SF317PEXW0 Whirlpool Range (gas)*

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details I suspect the glow bar bake igniter is weak and will need to be replaced.

The glow bar bake igniter is located under the floor of the oven and is mounted to the bake burner. The igniter must pull enough current/amperage before the gas valve will open. If your oven burner takes a long to ignite; it most likely has a weak glow bar igniter. Replacing the bake igniter and your oven will most likely operate normally again. The ovens bottom my come off from inside the oven cavity in order to access the bake igniter. The igniter can also be access by removing the broiler drawer. The igniter will be fastened to the rear of the bake burner. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
