Here is a brief video that explains the operation of the ignition system in that oven: Gas Ignition Operation . Check to see if the igniter is glowing when the oven is set in the bake mode. If it is, then that igniter is probably not heating to a point where the resistance decreases enough to allow the proper current to flow through the safety gas valve to open that component. In that situation, you will need to replace the igniter. You can order that part from this page: Oven Igniter for Whirlpool Range Model SF315PEPB2 . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

If that igniter is not glowing when the oven is set in the bake mode, then you could have a problem with the electronic control board, the wiring or the safety gas valve. Reply with additional details if you need more help diagnosing and repairing the oven heating failure.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the range, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question on the oven not working for your range.

Since this range has a Hot Surface igniter system it is highly likely that the igniter is not getting hot enough to open the safety gas valve for the burner.

When you turn the oven on do you see an orange glow in underneath the oven floor? If you do then we know that the circuit for the oven is working so either the safely valve or the igniter is faulty.

Since the most common issue is the igniter I would suggest replacing it first.

If there is no glow in underneath the oven bottom the control board may be the issue.

If you feel comfortable with taking the oven apart to repair it yourself I will be glad to help you do that.

The part number for the igniter is: 98005652.

Igniter for the oven .

Please let me know what you have found out about the igniter and I will be glad to continue troubleshooting with you.
