Question and Answers

Q:

How to I reduce the burner flame inside my oven?

A:

You did not indicate what type of fuel the range is connected to and or if it has been converted. I must assume the range has been converted to operate on LP or Natural gas accordingly. If the surface burners are working OK then all you likely need to do is to turn the bake valve orifice hood clockwise about 1/2 turn. The oven bake valve orifice can be adjusted to decrease or increase the gas flow to burner. See image below. The burner spud/orifice hood can be adjusted in a clockwise (CW) direction to reduce the gas flow or it can be adjusted counterclockwise (CCW) to increase the gas flow as needed. Use a 1/2 inch open end wrench to turn the orifice hood clockwise to reduce the flame size. Adjust the air shutter as needed to get the blue flames and not yellow.
