You washer probably has a leaking tub seal. The washer will likely need to have a triple lip seal and bearing kit (part 12002140) installed. I don't recommend that you try to install that kit yourself. It would require the specialized tools that are shown in the image below. Some of those tools are no longer available through Sears PartsDirect. Buying the kit, the tools and other parts that may be needed will probably not make economic sense. I recommend that you have a service technician repair this washer failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website where you can schedule service: Sears Home Services .

NOTE: The service will probably cost around $300 or more. You may consider replacing the washer instead of repairing it. You can view current washer models on the Sears.com website.

If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

Why does my Maytag washer not drain?

A:

From the description you give this is most likely a timer problem.

If the washer will fill and agitate then drain and spin and will even advance into the rinse cycle to fill and agitate but will not drain at the end then the problem is most likely the timer.

The image below show the timer chart for this washer and it clearly should pause and start to drain at the end of the extra rinse cycle.

There is a pause before the final drain and spin starts and from the description you give the timer is not coming out of the pause section.

Replacing the 27001113 timer will most likely correct this problem. See the 2nd image for help with this if you wish to do-it-yourself. Remember to unplug the washer first.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
