Hello Dennis,

Note: Working on a TV can be difficult and dangerous due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to service it and if unsure of the proper procedures, seek the service of a trained professional.

I'm sorry to hear that your television has quit working and I would like to assist you. I would like you to attempt to turn the set back on and reply with the exact number of blinks that you see after it goes into shutdown. It will be something like five blinks (or some other number,) short pause, five blinks, etc.

Please let me know what you find and I'll be happy to assist you further.

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for the reply. I am not sure of the model number that is listed in the first post, you may want to verify it and reply if it is different. The series that it most closely matches lists a five blink error code as a white balance error, which I usually find due to low or missing G-2 voltage. This can be caused by a splitter or the HV transformer, either of which deals with very high and dangerous voltages. There are other items that can cause this issue too. I recommend that you contact a television repair service or visit the link that I have posted for a Sears technician.
