Question and Answers

Q:

my jenn air electric oven and range model s156

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There is NO recalls on your Jenn-Air slide in electric range. The odor could be caused by a loose wire connection. A loose wire connection in the heating circuit will cause a high resistance which can cause the terminal connection or the wire to get hot and begin smelling. All the electrical wiring and component connections should be inspected. The odor could also be emitting from a electrical component on the electronic oven control/clock assembly. The odor could also be caused by a loose wire connection where the power supply connects to the range too.

I strongly suggest calling a service technician to inspect the range for the source of the odor.

You can have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure; you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

Q:

Jenn-Air Slide in Range Model S156W Fan/light Switch (Parrt Replacement) S156W Jenn-air Electric slide-in range

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Unfortunately, it does appear Jenn-Air has since discontinued fan switch part number 12200039, and Sears no longer has stock on the part.

I would recommend running an internet search for the part number and see if you can find a NOS (New Old Stock) still available and in circulation. If Jenn-Air had a suitable substitution for the part, it would have automatically changed to the new part number, which tells me the design must have changed from the original. The model isn't extremely old, being manufactured in or around year 2000, so I suspect finding one in circulation may still be a viable option for you.

Hopefully that will be of help and if you have any further questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

How can I get a service manusl for my Jenn-Air dishwasher. Jenn-Air can't help!

A:

ManageMyLife.com is a great place to find your owner's manual for various products. I am sorry that you are having some difficulties finding yours. Manufacturers stop producing manuals after ten years. This could be the cause of availability. Sometimes the expert can find one that is very similar to yours. You should hear back within two business days. If you are having a specific problem please submit your question on the existing tread. Just log back into the website. Go to your profile and find your question you asked and then click on join the conversation and provide that information. This will speed up the process for you and save you some time.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Service manuals are not generally available except for authorized servicers and service technicians. I could likely help you in diagnosing and repairing your Jenn-Air dishwasher but I will need to know the model number and the symptom(s).

I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

I am looking for a manual for a stove. The model number is S156 and the serial number is 13286255HF. I need this manual because the person who has this stove does not know how to use it and neither do I. She says the left side of the stove does not heat up hot enough to cook on it. Please help.

A:

Alyce: I must assume you are speaking of the left side surface elements/or grill and not the oven. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the Jenn Air range. I was not able to locate the Use and Care Guide. It could have faulty burner switches or the grill could be miswired. I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the range. To operate the left side is to simply turn the burner switch(s) switches on.
