Question and Answers

Q:

Roper washing machine is not working RTW4440VQ1 Roper Residential washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching modelRTW4440VQ1; if you are hearing buzzing in the timer area then it could be the timer malfunctioning. If it is under the machine it could be the motor or motor switch. Also there is a lid switch that could be out and not letting the unit go to the next cycle. Usually though if the lid switch is out it will still drain the unit. I linked the diagram below. The lid switch is number 9.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

We found the problem after taking the machine apart. A small sock was wedged into the teeth of the pump on the bottom of the machine.

Q:

Water problem RTW4440VQ1 Roper Residential washer

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your washer and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number RTW4440VQ1 and from your description I suspect you either have a bad new water level switch or your inlet valves are sticking open.

Try this, start a cycle and when the water level gets high, unplug the washer. If water continues to come in your water valves are sticking open. If not the new water level switch may be bad. I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.
