Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with this question. Replacing the light socket in a freestanding range is not a difficult repair but you have a built in oven with a microwave. If the wires going to the socket are long enough, you should be able to complete this repair yourself. I have found a video that shows how to replace the socket. Click here to watch the video. First, turn the power off to the oven. Then remove the socket with out removing the wires. Once you have it loose, carefully pull on the socket. If the wires are long enough, the socket will come out. If it comes out disconnect the wires but do not let go of them. Then connect the wire to the new socket and reassemble. If the wires turn out to be too short I recommend having the repair done. The reason is the over has to be removed to install the new socket. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to reply below if you need further assistance.

Q:

disassemble/repair whirlpool builtin oven/microwave

A:

I use my microwave very often and I know how important it is that it works properly. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I suggest you add on to the thread of this question and include more information about what is wrong with your appliance. I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and the owners manual will pop up. I hope my link is useful.

On something like this you need to use a thin bladed putty knife to carefully pry out the door choke #11. After carefully removing the choke you will see how the latch is screwed in position & the spring's location. Remember to have the door RF leak checked with an RF survey meter before resuming operation. If you do not have access to an RF survey meter I recommend calling for service to repair the microwave oven.
