Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The convection fan is designed to turn off whenever the oven door is opened; otherwise it should run continuously until the convection bake or convection broil cycle is canceled. So, if you open the door, the convection fan will turn off and it should start and run when the oven door is closed.

The convection fan is controlled by the electronic oven control board. If the convection fan stops running while the door is shut, the convection fan blade could be stalling out when the heat causes expansion of the rear panel. You may need to remove/adjust the convection fan assembly so that it will not rub or cause the fan to stall out.

You can access the convection fan from inside the oven cavity.
