Question and Answers

Q:

Why did my Roper electric dryer stop running?

A:

This type of diagnosis will require using a volt/ohm meter to find out where we are loosing voltage at. L1 voltage comes out of the timer on blue, goes through the thermal fuse to the motor. Neutral goes through the door & push to start switch to the other side of the motor. This is what provides the motor with 120volts. If you find the thermal fuse bad be sure to check for a shorted to ground heating element & poor venting before replacing. The thermal fuse is located behind the rear panel. Be sure to disconnect power before attempting repairs.
