Question and Answers

upper element will not turn off rbs305pdt12

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the broiler element staying on continuously. I know how concerning that is to have happen.

I suspect that during the self-cleaning cycle, the relay on the control board for the broil element became welded, and is constantly supplying it with power. In situations such as this, we would recommend having a service technician help assist with the repair. A new electronic control board will more than likely be required to solve the issue.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using We appreciate your business.

Clock RBS305PDT12 Whirlpool Oven

Thanks for the inquiry and for using

Based upon the owners manual for the unit, you will need to make sure the oven, timer, and timed cook are off before setting time.

To set:

1. Press Clock

2. Press the HR or MIN "up" or "down" arraow pads to set the time of day.

To remove the time of day from the display: Press and hold CLOCK for 5 seconds.

To return the time of day to the display: Press CLOCK. The time should not have to be reset.

Based upon your description, it sounds like you are setting the time properly which may indicate an issue with the electronic control/clock on the unit. I suspect that to correct the issue, a replacement electronic control will be needed. If everything else is working properly, it would be up to you on whether you wanted to purchase a new board to have the time feature working.

Hopefully this helps and thanks for using
