Q:

My oven stopped working and displays an error code RBS305PDB16 Whirlpool Built in oven - electric

A:

The E2 F3 error code indicates that the electronic control board in the oven detects an oven temperature that is too high (> 575 F in the bake mode).

Shut off the house circuit breaker to completely disconnect electrical power to the oven. Leave the power off for minutes and then reset the circuit breaker to restore power. This may reset the electronic control board in the control panel. If the control board does not reset and the error code returns, then you could have a problem with the electronic control board or the oven temperature sensor.

If the oven is locked then you can shut off the house circuit breaker and unlock it manually. Pull the oven out of the cabinet and remove the top panel above the control section to access the oven door lock. If the oven door is not locked, then you can access and check the oven temperature sensor (with the house breaker shut off). You can access that sensor as shown in this repair guide:  How to replace an Oven Temperature Sensor Probe.

You can test the sensor using a volt/ohm meter. The sensor should measure about 1080 ohms at 70 F (add 2 ohms per degree over that temperature). If the sensor is bad, replace it (part W10131825).

If the sensor is okay, then you may need to replace the electronic control board in the control panel (part 8302994). To open that control panel, open the oven door and push down the trim pieces on each side of the oven frame to access screws just under the control panel on each side that hold it in place (with the house circuit breaker for the oven still shut off).
