Q:

Bake element doesn't work

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your oven is not working properly after replacing a part. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you with your repair.

Id the new bake element is not working, the most likely the problem will be a failed electronic control board. When the element shorted, it probably also took out the control. A good check will be to see if the broil element heats. If it does, disconnect the power to the range and remove the control panel cover, to access the control itself. Now, reverse the wires on the Bake and Broil terminals. Reconnect the power and leave it on broil. If the bake element now heats, the control will need to be replaced.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It could have a loose wire connection in the voltage supply at the electronic oven control or it could have a faulty electronic oven control board.

I strongly suggest calling a service technician with the experience and training to diagnose and repair your oven.
