Question and Answers

Q:

model RBD305PDB14 double wall oven RBD305PDB14

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the push buttons not lighting. I know how frustrating that is.

This type of issue is typically caused by either the control panel or the control board. Since you've replaced the control panel with ribbon to the board, I would suspect the issue is with the board itself. However, it's always best to have the parts tested first to know which component is at fault, especially due to the cost of the replacement board.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

blank oven controls RBO305PDB14

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with youroven. Upon researching model RBO305PDB14; it sounds like you may need to replace the electronic control board. The control board governs the functions of the ovens, so when the control board fails the board display can go blank and not allow you to activate any of the oven features. The model number provided did not appear to be a valid model number for information as to witch control board would be correct for your model please verify the model number of the unit and submit a new question with the correct model number.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

Q:

RBD305PDB14 Whirlpool Control Panel

A:

Hello, that is an excellent question and I know its frustrating to have to keep replacing a part so soon I think your wiring harness might be failing or maybe a sensor, what i would recommend is finding a technician to assist you, it could be a small inexpensive part and it could be a reason to replace your oven, with it being so close to the holidays you might want to narrow it down and on the plus side you could get a full diagnostic on your oven :) best of luck with fixing your stove, an expert will be answering you within 2 business days

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I would not be able to recommend any parts until some voltage measurements have been made and some Ohm resistances made.

I added a couple of images below showing what the power transformer windings should measure in Ohm resistance. If it measures according to the information in the image below, then the voltage supply to the transformer will need to be made. The voltage is measure across terminal P16-5 and P16-7 which should be 120 VAC. The Ohm resistance of the transformer is also measured across P16-5 and P16-7 and then across P16-2 and P16-3. See images below. NOTE: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I strongly suggest calling a service technician.

I highly recommend calling a service technician with the proper equipment, knowledge and experience to properly diagnose and repair your oven.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
