There is a thermal fuse on that control that could be blown based on your description. The first image below highlights that component on the wiring diagram. The second image shows a photograph of that fuse. You can shut off the house circuit breaker for the oven and check that fuse for continuity. If it is blown, you can order a new one from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for that fuse is 4456654.

Be sure that you shut off the circuit breaker for the oven before accessing internal components.

If that fuse is okay, you could have a voltage supply problem or a wiring failure in the harness. I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I replace the control assembly on my Whirlpool built-in oven?

A:

The trick on this job is to remove the side trim pieces so you can access the screws that hold on the control panel. There should be a screw on the bottom of the trim #21 that is not shown. Once you pull off the trim pieces you will see the screws at the bottom of the control panel right & left sides #7. Lift & flip the console up to the service position. This will allow access for removal & replacing the control assembly.
