Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Roper washer, model RAX7244EQ1. It is leaking water from the bottom when it first starts filling up. What are some things I should check RAX7244EQ1 Roper Washer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the washer leaking. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

The most common issue would be with the inlet hoses bringing water into the tub. They can leak and the water can travel down the hoses and leak from the base, which would appear to be coming out of the bottom. If the hoses look good, monitor the tub while in the fill cycle to see if the tub is overfilling and the excess water coming out of the overflow tube, this could indicate an issue with the pressure switch.

If the water is coming from the center of the tub, that could be the center post gasket, it could also be coming from the pressure switch hose or air dome located on the side of the tub. I would recommend you check the air dome and hose before purchasing the center post gasket if everything else checks out.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
