I know how important it is to have most appliances working properly and its best to check your appliance properly before replacing major parts just to be sure. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance and also some more details about what is wrong with your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and your owners manual will pop up in where you can look in the troubleshooting pages for more tips. I hope my link is useful.

Thanks for sending the model number of the micro hood.

The only two things that can cause the control board to not accept more time is a bad control board or a bad touchpad.

I would disconnect the power to the micro hood and remove the control panel. Release the latch and disconnect the ribbon cable from the control board. Clean the contacts on the end of the ribbon connector and be sure it is firmly connected to the control board.

If this doesn't cure the problem I suggest you go to http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch and get a Sears technician to test the touchpad.

You can order the parts at [www.partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch]. The part numbers are:

22 575 FUNTKB361MRE0 1 0.00 R-1872 TOUCH KEYBOARD 22 575 DPWBFB061MRU0 1 199.99 R-1872 CONTROL PCB ASSY

You will need to call Sears Parts Direct to get a price and availability on the touchpad. The phone number is 1-800-252-1698.
