I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dryer. There are several components that can cause this to happen, but the most commen is the ignitor. I would suggest that you frist check to see if this is glowing. If it is not, there could one of several possible failures preventing the ignitor from glowing. I would ohm out the igniter first to see if is broken.

Possible causes of no igniter operation:

Timer (timer contact L&H must close) Heat selector switch (L1&C must close) Thermostat (yellow to brown must be closed) Safety thermostat (brown to blue must be closed) Air inlet control thermostat (blue to blue must be closed) Flame sensor (must be closed) Ignitor (must have continuity) Motor centrifugal switch

In order to determine which one is causing the problem you will need to test the system. For this, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your gas dryer. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why is my Maytag gas dryer running but not heating?

A:

You will need to remove the front panel to access the burner assembly & safety thermostat. Please see the images provided for the information you requested. If the thermal fuse tripped the dryer will not run at all.
