my kenmore gas boiler have the pilot off i dont know how to turn

A:

I understand your concern toward your pilot light being turned off since this will keep your water from getting hot. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I recommend you resubmit your question including the model number of your boiler so that the expert will provide you with a more detailed answer. I hope my advice is useful.

I can understand your concern. Unfortunately, without a model number, I will not be able to provide any specific information. There are various types of pilots and how they are lit. Some have electronic ignition and some have to be manually lit. Boilers can be very dangerous when not working properly and I recommend having a technician light the pilot and check out the system, to make sure it's working properly. It should actually be checked each year, before being used. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . Thank you for using Manage My Life.

These boilers can have an intermittent pilot, which means the pilot will have an electronic ignition or it may have a standing pilot. I'm attaching information for both types. I hope this will help you. If you have difficulty lighting the pilot or if it has electronic ignition, I strongly recommend having a technician check and repair this boiler.
