Question and Answers

Q:

GE Profile Refrigerator Water Dispenser

A:

When the water is just trickling out of the dispenser, it can seem like forever to fill the glass.  You may need to replace the bypass plug or what it fits into.  For parts, I have provided the link to searspartsdirect.com and if you decide on service that link is also available.  An expert will respond to your specific question within two business days.  Thanks for your patience.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

From what you say the filter head or the bypass is faulty.  The filter head sometimes causes this problem as the bypass is usually not the problem.  Here is the link for the replacement part.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

I have this refrigerator and it seems to be making ice but no water will come out of the dispenser. It just stopped working one day. I changed the filter also.

Q:

Fresh Foods not keeping temperature on higher shelves/freezer fine PSS26MGPACC Ge Refrigerator p series

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number PSS26MGPACC and from your description I would suspect an issue with the damper item 420 that pushes cold into the fridge from the freezer. You need to verify if the damper is functioning properly. Here is a link that may help with additional troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

ge refrigerator 2 door model pss26mgpacc, too cold on fresh food side, which part i need to change? pssmgpacc

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the refrigerator section is too cold. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

The model number you’ve provided is not valid. Without a valid model number to view the schematics, I can only provide general information.

You could have a problem with the cold control thermostat in the refrigerator or with the damper vent between the freezer and the refrigerator. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure. Those parts are expensive and if the damper needs to be replaced, it must be installed correctly to prevent air leaks.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
