Question and Answers

Q:

Where do I find instructions to take apart a refrigerator ice dispenser door?

A:

I don't find any detailed disassembly instructions for the dispenser on your GE Artica refrigerator dispenser. The parts list diagram for the dispenser is illustrated below. Be sure to unplug the refrigerator be for accessing internal parts of the dispenser. It appears that the dispenser trim is held on by clips. After snapping off the dispenser trim, you may be able to continue to remove components to access the internal dispenser parts. It is likely that you will have to remove the interface and control board (Keys 90 and 91) to access screws that hold the housing (Key 58) in place. Once you remove the housing, you should have access to all internal parts.

If you are not confident in disassembling this dispenser yourself, I recommend calling a service technician to complete the repair.

Q:

What is causing the ice dispenser door to not close completely?

A:

I think one of the parts you have picked or possibly the SOLENOID ASSEMBLY #36 will solve the problem. The only way to know which part or parts are bad is to look at them.

You need to turn the power off to the refrigerator and take the dispenser apart to see which part or parts you need.
