A:

Close the garage door and pull the emergency release to free the opener from the door. Raise and lower the door 4-5 times by hand to see if there is a problem in the door hardware or spring.

Raise the garage door 1/2 way and release it. If the door closes or opens there is a problem with the door spring.

Run the garage door opener up and down with the door disconnected. Look closely while the trolley is moving for any extra movement.

Be sure all the mounting hardware for the garage door opener is secure. You might find some nuts or screws that are loose.
