From what I can tell on this machine, it looks like the upper drive shaft (pt 545006039) will contain the upper flex shaft and that's the only way to get the flex shaft. You can order that HERE if you'd like.

Thank you for your question.

I will try to help you with your question. I prefer the 2-cycle trimmer to the 4 cycle. The reason is the 2 cycle does not require much maintenance. You just have to remember to add oil to the gas. The 2 cycle has been used for years and has been proven. One draw back is it puts out more pollutants than the 4 cycle. The 2 cycle will usually weigh less than the 4 cycle. The 4-cycle trimmer requires you to add oil to the crankcase. It uses a small amount of oil so if it is low it could be harmful to the engine. If you follow the service recommendations in the manual you will not have a problem. The 4-cycle engine is better for the environment because it does not put out the amount of pollutants. These are the main differences between the two. Whichever one you decide to purchase make sure to follow the service recommendations and always use fuel stabilizer in the gas. This will help prolong the life of the trimmer.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
