Thank you for your question on the lightest chainsaw.

If you decide on the Homelite make sure they are indicating that the weight of the saw includes the bar and chain.

The best I have found is the Poulan Pro PP3516AVX 16-Inch 35cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Anti-Vibration Chain Saw at 13 pounds. It is a 35cc saw with anti-vibration.

The Homlite model UT10568 42cc is 9.7 pounds but it does not say if that includes the bar and chain. Some of the listings are for the motor tool only.

Either one of these saws will be good for intermittent usage. These saws are not designed for every day all day use.

But if you are just going to do some clean up and cut some fire wood these will be fine.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. If the fuel mixture in the chainsaw is older than 5 weeks old, it should be drained. Then refill with fresh fuel mix. If this does not help I suspect there is a problem with the fuel system. I recommend checking in the fuel tank first. When you look in the tank, you should see a fuel line with a white filter attached to the end. Then inspect the fuel line. If it is hard and brittle, it has to be replaced. Here is a video that shows how to replace the fuel line. If the fuel line is fine, I suspect the carburetor is to blame. The carburetor will have to be cleaned or replaced. Here is a video that show how to clean the carburetor. Before you remove the carburetor, make sure to note the fuel line and cable connections. This will save a lot of frustration later. The parts for the chainsaw can be ordered from the following link.
