Question and Answers

Q:

I need to replace the actuator-water for my Frigidaire refrigerator. I have the part. Can you get me the replacement instructions?

A:

Here are the steps to replace the ice dispenser actuator on your refrigerator:

1. Unplug the refrigerator to completely disconnect electrical power. Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. 2. Remove the drip tray (Key 23 in the image below) from the dispenser housing. 3. You may see screws at the bottom of the module cover (Key 4). Remove these screws. If no screws are present, then you will need to release the clips at the bottom of this cover. You may have to carefully pry outward with a flat tip screwdriver to release the clips. 4. With the bottom screws removed (or the bottom clips released), lift the module cover up and off of the freezer door. 5. You should see 2 screws that hold the dispenser module (Key 8) in place. Remove these screws. 6. Carefully pull the dispenser module out. It will have wires and the water line attached. Pay close attention to the wire connector and water line so that they can be properly reassembled. Disconnect the wire plug and the water line and pull the dispenser module out. 7. If your ice dispenser has a heater wiring connection plugged in, you will need to unplug it. 8. Remove the bearing plates (Key 87) that cover the shaft of the ice actuator. Pull the actuator out and replace it with the new part. 9. If the new ice actuator has a heater, be sure to plug in the wiring connection where the previous heater wire was unplugged.

Reverse the procedure for reassembly.

I followed the instructions to change the water actuator. Now the light goes on when trying to dispense water but no water comes out. The ICE used to come out before changing the actuator but also none comes out. It make a huming sound as if wanting to start but inside ice maker does not turn, Any idea what i did wrong?
