Question and Answers

Q:

door opens too far PLDB998AC0

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question your Frigidaire dishwasher model PLDB998AC0. I am so sorry replacing the door springs did not correct the issue of the door opening too far. I will be happy to help you with this.

Since the springs did not correct the issue, the next parts to check are the parts that work with the springs to hold the door. By this I mean the door hinge assemblies. I have included the links below for you to view and order the parts.

In case you also need the screws for the hinges and the spring linkages I have included those links also.

Screw (You will need four.)
Spring Linkage (You will need two.)

Please note – If you have put a custom panel on the door that weighs more than the original panel you will need heavy duty springs to hold the door up. If you need the heavy duty springs, please resubmit your question and we will research that part for you.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dishwasher door is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided, and I have found information to assist you.

It sounds to me like you will need to replace the door springs. The springs prevent the door from slamming and opening all the way.

Actually I've already replaced the springs as well, but the problem is not slamming. It opens past level significantly.

Q:

need to see the schematics for the electrical cord. PLDB998AC0 Frigidaire Dishwasher

A:

 Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

Normally on the dishwashers the power is supplied by a separate power cord that is routed to the bottom of the dishwasher.  The terminal block is behind a cover on the bottom right hand side of the dishwasher.  You will remove the lower kick cover and the terminal block cover and there you will see the black and the white wire and a green case wire.  You likely will use wire nuts to connect white to white and the black to the black and the green to the green.  Install a cable keeper on the power cord and replace the panels and the cover. Plug the power cord in to the wall outlet under your sink and you can test the dishwasher.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
