Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your GE model number pgs975sem4ss.

It sounds like your bake element doesn't have enough amperage.   Sounds like it needs a new bake ignitor.  I have the ignitor on the link below.

As Julio suggested in the first response, I will need to have the model number of your GE slide in gas range in order to provide model specific instructions. 

So that’s what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. The model numbers are typically located on the oven frame somewhere around the oven cavity opening. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.
