This is an unusual failure. You may be seeing igniter on that oven burner glowing. This could be caused by wires that are shorted in the range. I recommend that you have a service technician examine the range and repair this type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

The ignitor for that oven burner is shown in the parts image below. It is KEY 14 in that image. It is part number 74007498. If you have not already ordered that replacement ignitor, you can order it from the Sears PartsDirect website. To access that component, unplug the range and shut off the gas supply then remove the bottom oven panel as shown in the first image below. You can then remove the flame spreader (KEY 7 in the parts image) and access that ignitor. Unplug the wire harness connection and replace that component. Plug in the wire to the harness and reassemble the range.

The third image shows the theory of operation for that ignitor system.

These tips should help you replace that component. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
