Belt Slipping PFTL69720 Proform Proform c950

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you’re having with the belt slipping. I know how frustrating that is.

There could be a few reasons why the walking belt would slip. The most common reasons are lack of lubrication between the belt and walking board, or a loose walking belt. You can adjust or tighten the walking belt with an Allen wrench at the rear endcaps. Put your hand between the walking belt to see if it feels lubricated or dry. If it’s dry, we recommend using silicone gel versus spray. It can be purchased on

I have posted a link below for a short video that shows the common procedures to fix a slipping belt.

I have a Pro-formc950 and the front of the belt seems to be rubbing terribly ... do you have any suggestions? How much do you charge for House calls?

Not being able to use your treadmill can be disappointing it is so much easier to just hope on the treadmill instead of doing a work out routine or going for a jog. While your waiting on an expert response you can visit the PartsDirect website to purchase lube or you can visit the website to chat with an associate. I have provided both links below. I hope this helps!

I will cut/paste the directions for adjusting the walk belt for you.

Adjusting the Walking Belt

Determine if the belt is running parallel to the foot rails, if it is not adjust the front roller to make the belt run true. NOTE: On some models there are no front roller adjustments. If so go to step B.

  • To center the walking belt follow the steps below:
  1. On the right side of the front roller there is a bolt or screw that goes thru the roller bracket or bushing then thru the shaft of the front roller and out, most of the time back into the bracket.
  2. To move the belt to the left side of the treadmill turn the screw/bolt in the front roller clockwise until the belt runs parallel to the side rails.
  3. To move the belt to the right turn the bolt/screw counter clockwise until the belt runs parallel to the side rails.
  • To adjust a loose walking belt that is running straight.
  1. Turn both adjustment screws at the back of the treadmill an equal amount clockwise in 1/4 inch increments.

*To adjust a loose walking belt that is off to one side.

  1. If the belt is to the left side tighten the left adjustment screw more than the right screw to get the belt centered.

If the belt is to the right side tighten the right adjustment screw more than the left screw to get the belt centered.

If you’ve not lubed the walk belt before, it’s quite possible that the belt will need to be replaced. The walking deck can also become damaged from lack of lube. You will have to contact your local store to see if they carry the belt lube. We do not have information as to what stores will carry what merchandise. But I would bet that they do carry lube as most of the stores will.
