My ProForm just stopped working. How do I troubleshoot it? And fix it? PFTL59104 Proform Proform 585 qs

A:

To actually get another one for an extra $100 makes the decision kind of easy. But lets look into what we might expect first. I've located a couple of links that deal in the area you're concerned about. Study this material and be aware that an expert will be getting back to you within two business days if not sooner. A:

If nothing turns on then I doubt the motor is the problem. This would more likely be a problem with the power board, the console, or the cable that goes from the board to the console. You'll need to get a multi-meter and remove the motor hood to check these things. Once you remove the motor hood, you should find a schematic and "tech sheet" to help with diagnosing this problem.

I will mention that if the machine was on a patio, in a non-climate controlled area, then it's very likely that the problem is related to the power board as the electronics do not do well with temperature fluctuations and humidity.

Q:

My treadmill console is not working properly. Can it be fixed under any circumstances?

A:

The console on your treadmill can be sent in for repair. The company that rebuilds Sears electronic controls can rebuild the console on your treadmill. The console will have to be removed from the treadmill and sent in for rebuild.

Contact a Sears Service Center or a Sears retail store for the procedure. You should be able to do the work your self if you want to. You can also schedule service and get a technician to remove and replace the console.

The Sears retail store or Service Center can give you the price.
