The automatic tread part may just have been user error. I think I didn't have the key pushed all the way in. That or the belt fix was all it needed and it took a bit to catch on.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with not being able to adjust the speed of the belt, on the treadmill. We are here to help. The key has to be inserted all the way, for the treadmill to work properly. Yadira did a good job providing the owners manual to the treadmill. I recommend that you use it. Just click here to download the manual. If the numbers still do not change when using the treadmill, a wire may have unplugged. To check the wires, unplug the treadmill. Next, remove the black motor cover. Now,check all the wire connections on the circuit boards. Also, if the reed switch is out of alignment or the magnet is missing, the display numbers will not change. I hope this helps.

Haven't had a chance to take it apart. Have a new problem. Incline legs won't stay extended. As far as I can tell the parts are put together right. Didn't see anything in the manual. What should I look for?
