Thank you for your question. I was able to bring up several models with the part numbers listed and was then able to look at a similar model here. There appears to be 3 screws with 1/4 inch hex heads that will need to be removed. Then there will be a tab toward the back of the rail that will need to be pressed in, to enable the rail to slide out. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and please include the complete model and serial number and I will assist you further.

Diahanne, there are no pictures are instructions for this rail. This can be difficult part to remove. Unless it's damaged I would recommend not trying to remove it. However, if it does need to be replaced, first the drawer will need to be removed. This is a heavy drawer, so be very careful. Follow the directions in the owner's manual to remove the drawer. With the drawer removed, now you can remove the 2 torx head screws in the rail and then press the back tab in while pulling the rail forward, to slide the rail out. Now, remove the 4 hex head screws holding the cover in place. I hope this will help you. If you would like to have a technician make this repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. I hope this will help you.

Parts and repair information on the Samsung refrigerator that you have is complicated and the information is somewhat limited. I am not sure which service bulletin that you are referring to. It appears that the most recent service bulletin regarding the ice maker is the one that is shown in the images below. This bulletin indicates that the control board does need to be replaced when you replace the ice maker. The bulletin indicates that you should order the kit part DA81-01421A when replacing the ice maker. The kit contains the ice maker and the revised PCB board.

You may need to order that kit and install it for the ice maker to work in this refrigerator.

I don't have information that shows whether the control boards DA41-00413C and DA41-00413J are compatible.

It is the normal policy that you cannot return parts. I recommend that you talk with the Sears PartsDirect customer service department to see if you can return any unneeded parts in this situation. They may or may not be able to make an exception.

This can be a difficult situation to resolve. I seriously recommend that you have a Sears Technician diagnose and repair this ice maker problem. The technician will likely have more resources to use in making sure that the correct ice maker and control board are installed. If the technician orders the incorrect part, you will not be charged for that. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to help you further.

The bulletin that came with the ice maker (P/N DA97-05422A) was ASC20071012001. It called for the older rev. board (C vs. J). I had called the only "Authorized" Samsung repair Tech. in my area (A National Chain) who came out. The Ice maker would not even cycle with the test button or after a re-setting the Fridge. He took it out & put it back in. It still would not cycle. He said give it a couple of days (?) and charged me $70. He wanted to call him back, and if it didn't work, a new ice maker would be $274 installed. If that did not do the trick, he could replace the system board for $325. So I ordered the part from Sears. Looks like it had an out dated bulletin in the box that had the old part number...........

Hi, I have a GE refrigerator Model PFSF6PKWBBB that uses the Samsung kit to replace the icemaker. My icemaker "cliks" just before dischaging ice. It has been doin this for over a year now. The noise is the only problem as the icemaker functions correctly. I want to replace the icemaker and have acquired a DA81-01421A kit with the icemaker and PCB (printed circuit board). My question is: Must I replace the PCB board or can I just replace the icemaker? Thank you, Dave

Hello Dave. I provided some information about the replacement of that ice maker and the main control board for that model of refrigerator in the image below. Check your serial number and that criteria listed to determine whether you need to replace the control board. The part number for the ice maker on the GE model is WR30X10097. Your details indicate that the ice maker in that DA81-01421A kit is the same as the ice maker part WR30X10097. I don't have information that confirms the compatibility of that part with WR30X10097. We normally recommend that you stick with the replacement parts that are provided by the manufacturer. You seem confident that the ice maker is compatible. Even if the ice maker is compatible, the control board may or may not work in that model of GE refrigerator. You can check the numbers or markings on the original control board installed in your refrigerator to try and determine whether that control board in the DA81-01421A kit is compatible. I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

I just replace the Ice Maker with one from Sears Parts. The fridge had a PC-ER "Communication Error" and an Ice Sensor error code as well. After the new ice maker, all alarms cleared. So it seems, at least in my case, the "Fatal" Main Board Communications Error was caused by the diagnostics not communicating to the Ice Maker. Chuck

Thanks for updating us with that information Chuck. This indicates that Dave may be able to fix his problem by just replacing that ice maker assembly and not replacing that control board.
