A:

I use my dishwasher very often and I know how useful it can be to have a good working dishwasher in the home since dirty dishes gather quickly. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a great link that will provide you with more information about what may be causing your problem. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. Based on you symptom and details, the key pad is likely faulty. The key pad will not likely come with any instructions. I added an image below on how to access and test the key pad. If you find a faulty key pad, it should peel off and the new one will stick on. The key pad is part #WD34X11072 and cab be ordered from Sears PartsDirect

In order to properly diagnose the Start/Reset key pad function will require disconnecting the key pad ribbon connector from the control board and testing for continuity across pins 13 and 15 when Start/Resume key pad is pushed. You will need an OHM meter to test the key pad.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
