Question and Answers

Poulan pro pb20h42yt can't get fuel to the fuel filter pb20h42yt

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. If the engine will run when you pour fuel into the carburetor, I recommend checking the fuel supply to the carburetor. To do that you need to move the tractor to a well-ventilated area. The remove the fuel supply line from the fuel pump. Lower the line into an approved container and check the fuel flow. If there is not any fuel coming out of the line I recommend checking for a plugged vent in the fuel cap, plugged fuel filter or the tank outlet is plugged. If you have a good flow coming out of the fuel line, the problem is in the carburetor. If your model has a fuel solenoid, the solenoid could be the problem. I found a video that shows how to check the solenoid. Click here to watch the video. If the solenoid is working, the problem is likely dirty passages in the carburetor.  To cure this, the carburetor needs to be cleaned or replaced. To clean the carburetor you need to disassemble it and flush out the passages with carburetor cleaner and compressed air. Click here to be taken to a site that shows how to clean the carburetor.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Include the model number of the engine.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
